Timeline of the Prophets
An interactive timeline of the major prophets in Islam.
The first human and the first prophet, created by Allah from clay. He and his wife Eve (Hawwa) were taught the names of all things. After being tempted by Satan, they repented and were placed on Earth to begin human history.
Key Milestones
The Creation from Clay
Allah created Adam from clay and breathed into him the spirit (Ruh). He was taught the names of all things directly by his Creator.
The Command to Prostrate
Allah commanded the angels to prostrate to Adam as a sign of respect. Iblis (Satan) refused out of arrogance, leading to his expulsion.
The Garden and the Test
Adam and Hawwa lived in Jannah but were forbidden from one tree. Satan whispered to them, and they ate from it.
Repentance and Forgiveness
They felt immediate remorse and prayed for forgiveness. Allah accepted their repentance (Tawbah) but decreed their descent to Earth.
Life on Earth
Sent to Earth to establish humanity. He taught his children the worship of the One God and the laws of life.
Miracles & Special Events
Created directly by Allah (cc) from clay.
Taught the names of all things by Allah (cc).
Angels were commanded to prostrate before him as a sign of honor.
The first human to receive divine revelation.
